The firm seeks to create a portfolio comprising 30 to 40 stocks from the Australian and New Zealand equity markets in which large and small companies can have an equally important impact on investment returns. They aim to reduce investment risk by diversifying their investments across a range of companies and industries, thereby ensuring that the portfolio is not overly exposed to one company or one sector of the market. Investment decisions are taken by the Investment Committee.

AFIC-IM seeks to provide shareholders with long-term returns and dividends that grow faster than the rate of inflation. The firm invests in 60 to 80 companies across a range of industries, that are selected for their ability to perform through economic cycles and generate returns over the long-term.
