Samantha Smith

Dr. Samantha Smith is a Research Associate at The Economic & Social Research Institute.
Her research interests include palliative care, chronic disease management, equity in health care financing and delivery, international health financing systems, health care utilization and access.
Dr. Smith previously held research positions at the Overseas Development Institute (London), the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and Oxford University.
She also worked as an ODI Fellow in the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development in Uganda.
She has a PhD in Economics from Trinity College in Dublin (TCD), an MSc in Economics for Development from Oxford University, and a BA in Economics and Psychology from TCD.
