Sam Ruiz

Sam is an independent advisor with 30 years of experience in Equities trading, technology platforms and risk management.
Prior to starting his own consulting firm in 2014, he was Senior Managing Director, Head of Equities and part of the European Management Committee at Nomura (2011-2013), responsible for Execution Services (Cash, Portfolio and Electronic), Flow and Exotic Derivatives, Convertibles, Delta 1, Prime Services, and responsible for all Trading, Sales, Research and support staff.
From 2008 to 2011, Sam was Head of Equities Trading at Nomura, responsible for merging and integrating the two businesses (Lehman and Nomura), focusing on Technology platforms and Risk management.
Prior to that, as Head of Equities Trading, Co-Head of Execution Services in EMEA at Lehman Brothers (2002-2008), Sam was one of the members of the Lehman Executive Committee that negotiated with, and then sold the legacy Lehman Equity business to Nomura during the financial crisis in 2008.
Sam recently retired from his executive role, and is now providing specialist Industry advice through his firm Agrippa Consulting, retained as an Expert Witness in litigation cases, serves on the Lord Chancellors Advisory Committee, and a business mentor at the Kids Company.
