Shapiro is the founder of Liberty Maritime Corp.
(founded in 1988) and Liberty Global Logistics LLC (founded in 2004), where he holds the title of Chairman.
Currently, Mr. Shapiro is the Director at American Bureau of Shipping, United Seamen's Service, National Maritime Historical Society, American Maritime Congress, and Associate Trustee at Jewish Hospital.
In the past, Mr. Shapiro served as Director at OMI Corp.
from 2002 to 2007, Director at Hunter Maritime Acquisition Corp., Principal at Northwell Health, Inc., Trustee at Coast Guard Foundation, and Vice President & General Counsel at Apex Marine Corp.
Mr. Shapiro completed his undergraduate degree at The Trustees of Columbia University in The City of New York in 1974 and his graduate degree at Hofstra University in 1978.
