Astou Simaga

Astou joined AIIM as an Investment Associate in 2023.
She supports the Pan-African investment team across the full investment lifecycle and holds responsibilities in transaction origination and deal execution, with a particular focus on French-speaking sub-Saharan African markets.
She also assists in asset management activities for portfolio companies.
Prior to joining AIIM, Astou worked at Senegal’s Sovereign Wealth Fund (FONSIS) were she helped execute several transactions, primarily across energy, agribusiness, healthcare and pharma sectors.
Prior to FONSIS, she worked as a junior deal team member at AFIG Funds, a growth and expansion private equity fund manager targeting investments in West, Central and East Africa.
Astou started her career in 2015 as an Investment Analyst intern at Teranga Capital, the first SGB-focused impact fund in Senegal and The Gambia.
Astou holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Master of Science in Banking and Finance, both from IAM Business School (Senegal).
