Steve R. Hill

Mr. Hill was Senior Vice President of human resources for the Weyerhaeuser Co., president of the Health Care Purchasers of Puget Sound and served on the state's Hospital Rate Setting Commission.
He is a member of the first class of the American Leadership Forum Chapter for Tacoma-Pierce County and on the board of directors for Consumers Union, the Washington Public Affairs Network and the Puget Sound Health Alliance.
In 1978, he was appointed a White House Fellow and served as a staff assistant in the Office of the Secretary, U.S.
Department of Energy.
Mr. Hill is the administrator of the Washington State Health Care Authority since 2005, which oversees health care plans for public employees and the state's Basic Health Care program for low-income residents.
His dual role in state government is part of a plan to improve customer satisfaction and streamline government operations between DRS and HCA. As the head of both agencies, he serves as one of the State Investment Board's 10 voting members.
In addition, he chairs the state's Public Employees Benefit Board; is a member of the Select Committee on Pension Policy and serves on the Governor's Health Policy Team.
Mr. Hill received a Bachelor of Science degree in forest management from the University of California at Berkeley in 1969 and received an MBA degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1971.
