Martin Gerstel

Martin S.
Gerstel is the founder of ALZA Corp., which was founded in 1968.
He held the title of Co-Chairman, Chief Executive & Financial Officer from 1982 to 1993.
He is also the founder of Itamar Medical Ltd., which was founded in 1995.
He served as a Director from 1997 to 2020.
Currently, Mr. Gerstel is the Chairman of Mada Ltd. He is also a Director at the National Science & Technology Medals Foundation, the Binational Industrial Research & Development Foundation, Yeda Research & Development Co. Ltd., and a Member-Governors Board at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Weizmann Institute of Science.
In his former roles, Mr. Gerstel served as Chairman & Co-Chief Executive Officer of Compugen Ltd. from 2010 to 2017.
He was also Chairman of Evogene Ltd. from 2004 to 2021, Chairman of Keddem Bioscience Ltd. from 2004 to 2016, and Director of Symyx Technologies, Inc. from 1995 to 2006.
Additionally, he served as Director of Yissum Research Development Co. Ltd. and Yissum Holdings Ltd. from 2003 to 2015.
He is currently a Director at Itamar Medical, Inc.Mr. Gerstel completed his undergraduate studies at Yale University and holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
