Furman is the founder of CareMore Medical Group, Inc. (founded in 1993), CareMore Medical Enterprises, Inc. (founded in 1993), and Wellpoint IPA of New York LLC (founded in 1993).
He held the title of Chief Medical Officer at each of these companies from 1993 to 2010.
Currently, Dr. Furman is the Chief Clinical Officer at Alignment Healthcare, Inc. since 2013.
Previously, he worked as the Senior Director-Healthcare Services at Oliver Wyman Group from 2012 to 2013.
He also served as the Chief Medical Officer at Carelon Health of California, Inc. and Chief Clinical Officer at Alignment Healthcare LLC.
Dr. Furman obtained a doctorate degree from Wayne State University (Michigan) in 1976.
He completed his undergraduate degree at American University in 1972.
In 1998, he earned an MBA from the University of California, Irvine.
