Bill Oakes

Bill Oakes is primarily engaged by the Firm to work with management teams in the area of manufacturing, specifically the development and application of models and tools to help deliver operational excellence.
Mr. Oakes has extensive experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma and was a certified Lean Sigma Master Black Belt with Medtronic.
Mr. Oakes spent over 40 years across a diverse range of precision manufacturing processes, including machining, optics, thin film coatings, lasers, and class III medical devices.
Most recently, Mr. Oakes was Director of Operations with Endologix, a manufacturer of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair devices.
Prior to Endologix, Mr. Oakes held various operations positions with Medtronic, including Senior Engineering Manager of Contract Manufacturing Supplier Development, Operations Manager of Endovascular Innovations and Engineering Manager of the Office of Continuous Improvement.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Oakes held various management and engineering roles within several high-tech manufacturing industries, such as femtosecond pulsed lasers and precision thin film optical coatings.
Mr. Oakes holds a BS in Applied Physics from California State University, Sonoma.
