Prince Akpesey

Prior to joining ZIP, Prince worked for Acumen Fund, a global Private Equity Social Investment Fund as the investment manager for its West Africa regional office based in Accra.
In this role, he was instrumental in originating and processing investments as well as providing post-investment monitoring.
Prince gained valuable experience making investments in several sectors, key of which was agriculture.
He led transactions and managed investments in the largest integrated rice farm/milling operation in Ghana with a guaranteed off-take, an oil palm processing business, an organic fertiliser manufacturing and distribution business all in Ghana and an agriculture information systems company operating in more than six African countries.
He also led transactions in financial inclusion, renewable energy, sanitation in both Ghana and Nigeria.
Prince also worked on sector strategies that guide Acumen’s investment in agriculture and renewable energy in the region.
Prince spent seven years with First Atlantic Bank Limited where, among other things, he established the equity research desk of its stock brokerage subsidiary and helped transform it from a loss-maker to one of the top five stock brokerage firms between 2007 and 2010 in Ghana.
Prince was also part of the three-person team that developed a new strategic plan of the bank that underpins its current retail banking focus following the acquisition by private equity investors.
Prince obtained a Bachelor of Science in Banking & Finance from the University of Ghana (First Class Honours) and holds a Masters in Finance and Management from Cranfield School of Management, Cranfield University in the United Kingdom where he was a Chevening Scholar.
