Mr. James Yao has extensive knowledge and experience in the Internet and technology market, in both Silicon Valley and Asia.
Prior to co-founding AsiaTech in 1997, he was the Vice President of Marketing of Anixter Inc., a leading US network integrator.
There, he managed its Asia-Pacific expansion.
Mr. Yao also served as the Managing Director of Greater China for Banyan Systems.
In addition, he also held senior positions at Oracle Corporation in California and Asia, including China Deputy Managing Director, Taiwan Country Manager and Product Manager for Oracle Network Products.
He was a founding investor and board member of a number of network technology start-ups in the Silicon Valley, such as NetIQ Corporation in 1994 and EcoSystems Corporation in 1991, which was later sold to CompuWare Corporation.
Mr. Yao holds a BS in Electrical Engineering-Computer Science and a BS in Management Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
