Vakgebied

LyondellBasell Industries N.V. is een van de grootste chemieconcerns ter wereld. De netto-omzet is per activiteit als volgt verdeeld:
- produktie van olefinen en polyolefinen (50,2%): ethyleen, propyleen, butadieen, polypropyleencomponenten, enz.;
- vervaardiging van chemische tussenprodukten (21,6%): propyleenoxide, acetyl, ethanol, ethyleenoxide, enz.;
- raffinage van ruwe olie met een hoog sulfidegehalte (15,6%): activiteit verzekerd in het gebied rond de Golfkust van de Verenigde Staten. De groep produceert ook oxy-fuel;
- fabricage van geavanceerde polymeeroplossingen (11,1%): polypropyleenverbindingen, engineering plastics, composietmaterialen, geavanceerde polymeren, enz. ;
- ontwikkeling van chemische en polyolefine procestechnologieën (1,5%). De groep vervaardigt ook polyolefine-katalysatoren.
Eind 2021 had de groep wereldwijd 34 produktievestigingen.
De netto-omzet is als volgt geografisch verdeeld: Nederland (3%), Verenigde Staten (48,8%), Duitsland (7,4%), China (5%), Italië (4%), Mexico (3,4%), Japan (3,1%), Frankrijk (3%), Polen (2,5%) en andere (19,8%).
