Vasily Astrov

Mr. Vasily Astrov is an Economist at The Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies.
He is a country expert for Russia and other CIS countries.
His research focuses on macroeconomic analysis and energy issues.
He is also editor of the wiiw Monthly Report.
In his recent study, he analyzed the global crisis's economic effects and European energy security issues.
He assembled comprehensive academic and international experience in the United Kingdom (University of Warwick), Germany (Westfälische Wilhelms Universität), Norway (University of Oslo), and Russia (St. Petersburg State University).
He graduated in economics (M.Sc., Dipl.-Vw) and geography (B.A.).
