Prior to joining Hall Capital in June 2000, Mr. Bauch was in private legal practice from 1996 to May 2000, advising large private companies, their principals and advisors on a variety of matters.
He also serves as a consulting professor at Stanford Law School.
From 1977 to 1996, he was the Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Levi Strauss & Co. Prior to joining Levi Strauss & Co., he was in private practice with a major Chicago law firm while leading a volunteer legal aid clinic, worked as associate general counsel for securities and acquisitions for a Fortune 100 company, and acted as the special assistant for the Solicitor of Labor for the United States.
Mr. Bauch received his Bachelor's degree in English Literature cum laude in 1964, and law degree magna cum laude in 1966, from the University of Wisconsin.
He is a founding Board member of Gateway High School, a charter college preparatory high school in San Francisco.
He has served on the Boards of the San Francisco Opera Association, the Charles Armstrong School, the American Corporate Counsel Associate, the Urban School and Telluride Academy.
He is a member of the investment committee of the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco.
