Profiel

Prior to joining the Ford Foundation in 2005, Ms. Williams was in private practice in Miami, where she was active in civic affairs and political issues.
She wrote one of the key legal briefs in the Florida Supreme Court case that defeated an effort to place on the ballot four initiatives that would have rendered affirmative action in Florida unconstitutional.
She has served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including Florida Memorial College (now Florida Memorial University), south Florida's only historically black college, and the Urban League of Broward County, one of the country's largest Urban League affiliates.
Ms. Williams received a J.D.
from the University of Michigan Law School and a bachelor's degree from Mount Holyoke College.
