StoryCorps, Inc. is an award-winning organization founded in 2003 that has given nearly 600,000 people across all 50 states the opportunity to record interviews about their lives. The non-profit company is based in New York, NY and was founded by Dave Isay. The organization preserves these recordings in its archive at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress, which is the largest single collection of human voices ever gathered. StoryCorps shares select stories with the public through various platforms, including podcasts, broadcasts, animated shorts, digital platforms, and best-selling books. The organization is committed to capturing and amplifying voices that are least heard in the media. The StoryCorps MobileBooth, an Airstream trailer transformed into a traveling recording booth, crisscrosses the country year-round gathering stories from people of all backgrounds and beliefs.
