Rik Muilwijk

Mr. Rik Muilwijk is General Counsel & Partner at Navis Capital Partners Ltd.
He works closely with the investment teams on deal structuring and negotiating investment terms.
In addition, he is responsible for the formation of conventional and Shariah compliant Navis investment funds.
Mr. Muilwijk acts as the firm's chief compliance officer and oversees regulatory compliance across the Navis group.
He sits on the Navis Investment Committee and heads the Legal & Compliance department.
Mr. Muilwijk was previously employed as a Senior Associate by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP.Prior to joining Navis in 2007, Mr. Muilwijk worked as a corporate finance lawyer for eight years.
He was a senior associate in the corporate practice group of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and received his initial legal training at the Benelux firm Loyens & Loeff.
Mr. Muilwijk worked in Amsterdam and New York.
Mr. Muilwijk received his JD from the University of Amsterdam, a LLM from King's College London, MS in risk management in The Leonard N Stern School of Business and an MBA from the University of Toronto.
