Raphael Nkomo

Dr. Raphael Nkomo is Executive Director at Prescient Investment Management (Pty) Ltd.
He joined the firm in August 2015 as Chief Investment Officer.
His primary responsibility is overseeing the investment team, the investment philosophy and process and performance.
Dr. Nkomo has over 15 years of institutional investment and wealth management experience in South Africa and the United Kingdom.
Before joining Prescient, Dr. Nkomo was the Head of Investment and Product Strategy for the entire private client segment of Barclays Africa Group Ltd, including Wealth, AIFA, Business Bank and Private Bank.
From 2006 to 2012, he was the Chief Investment Strategist of QT Capital Management, a hedge fund specialized in Quantitative Portfolio Management strategies.
From 2003 to 2006, he was the Head of Quantitative Equity Research at Investec Securities.
Dr. Nkomo began his investment career at Investec Asset Management in 2001 as Fixed Income Analyst and Asset and Liabilities Portfolio Manager.
He obtained a Master’s degree at Rand Afrikaans University (University of Johannesburg) in 2000, where he also subsequently completed his PhD.
