Matts Lundgren

Matts is co-Founder and Partner of Magnesium Capital.
He has over 30 years’ operating experience in the energy, technology and industrial sectors, with both public and private equity owned businesses.
After 15 years with technology company ABB in a number of global senior management positions based in Europe and Asia, Matts joined global technology company Invensys in 1999.
In 2004 he became the CEO of Hansen Transmissions, a global supplier of large-scale gearboxes for wind turbines owned by Invensys.
He met Ian in 2004 when Apax Partners acquired Hansen Transmissions in a management buy-out.
Following the successful sale of Hansen in 2006, Matts became a Managing Director at Allianz Capital’s Energy group and later joined Ian at Apax as an Operating Partner.
Matts has an Electrical Engineering degree from Rinmansskolan Eskilstuna in Sweden and graduated from Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
