Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) is the pension fund management subsidiary of state-owned Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in Japan. Headquartered in Tokyo, GPIF was founded in 2006 and manages and invests the Reserve Funds of the Government Pension Plans entrusted by the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare, in accordance with the provisions of the Employees' Pension Insurance Act and the National Pension Act, aiming to contribute to the financial stability of both Plans by remitting profits of investment to the Special Accounts for the Government Pension Plans.

The Norinchukin Bank (Investment Management) (TNB-IM) is the investment management division of The Norinchukin Bank, a Japanese cooperative bank headquartered in Tokyo. The firm was founded in 1923 with government funds and subsequently privatized in 1959. It is a subsidiary of Japan Agricultural Cooperatives Group. TNB-IM provides financial services and liquid assets management to Japan's agricultural, forestry and fishery industries, acting as an institutional lender in the aforementioned sectors and as an investment manager. Pension Fund Association (PFA) is an independent Japanese pension fund manager which was originally founded in 1967 as a federation of employees' pension funds and became Pension Fund Association under the revision of the Employees' Pension Insurance Act in 2004. Headquartered in Tokyo, PFA pension benefits to those who seceded from employees' pension funds after a short period (usually less than 10 years) of membership in an integrated manner, and undertakes the aggregation of different corporate pension plans, including employees' pension funds, defined benefit corporate plans and defined contribution plans.
