Dr. Martin Melecky is a Lead Economist at The World Bank.
He has led financial sector assessment programs, development policy operations, and investment and technical assistance projects in South Asia, Emerging Europe, and Central Asia.
He is also the lead author of the chapter in the 2014 World Development Report on the role of the financial system in risk management.
Dr. Melecky was previously employed as a Research Economist by Czech National Bank (Research Firm), an Economist by De Nederlandsche Bank, and a Consultant by European Central Bank (Research Firm).
He received a PhD in Economics from the University of New South Wales, Australia.
