Harold Weiss

Mr. Harold Weiss is the Chief Executive Officer of Horizon21 Private Equity since December 2006.
Mr. Harold Weiss has extensive experience in asset management and private equity.
He began his career in 1973 with Union Bank of Switzerland (now UBS) in Zurich, Switzerland, in the bond and equity financing department and later in equity research.
During this time he participated in a one-year external program with various brokerage firms in New York, United States, sponsored by the bank.
From 1980 to 1986 he worked in the private banking sector with Bank J.
Vontobel & Co. and later with Bank Julius Baer & Co. in Zurich, Switzerland, as a Financial Analyst and a Portfolio Asset Manager for institutional clients.
In 1986 he joined BZ Bank in Zurich, Switzerland, a then newly formed brokerage and asset management firm.
In1992 he was a founding shareholder and until 1997 a director of Bank am Bellevue in Zurich, Switzerland.
Initially working as an Institutional Client Relationship Manager he later became Head of Equity Trading and a Member of the Zurich Stock Exchange, Switzerland (now SWX Swiss Stock Exchange).
In 1997, he co-founded Reutlinger, Weiss + Partner Ltd.
in Zurich, Switzerland, an asset management advisory firm for private clients.
From June 1998 to November 2006 he was with Swiss Reinsurance Company in Zurich, Switzerland, where he led the private equity fund investment initiative for proprietary asset management.
Under his leadership Swiss Re Private Equity Advisors Inc. became a credible provider of private equity fund of funds products and services to institutional clients in the German speaking part of Europe.
As Head of Private Equity Fund of Funds he supervised a team of more than 14 people in Zurich, Switzerland, and New York, United States.
He holds an economic diploma from the Zurich Chamber of Commerce in Zurich, Switzerland.
Mr. Harold Weiss was born in 1951.
He is married and lives in Switzerland.
