The Group's principal activity is to explore, develop and produce oil and natural gas. Its exploration activity is based on an integrated geologic interpretation method incorporating 3-D seismic technology and advanced visualization and data analysis techniques utilizing state-of-the-art computer hardware and software. The operations are conducted primarily along the onshore United States, Gulf Coast with its primary emphasis in South Texas and South Central Louisiana.

GlobalSantaFe Corp. is one of the leaders in the contract drilling industry. It provides offshore oil and gas drilling and drilling management services. It owns and operates about 61 marine drilling rigs, including premium and heavy-duty, harsh-environment jackups, semi submersibles and dynamically positioned ultra-deepwater drillships, as well as two semi submersibles operated for third parties under a joint venture agreement.
