Ms. Alia Yousuf, CFA, is Senior Portfolio Manager at ING Investment Management Asia Pacific (Singapore) Ltd.
Ms. Yousuf was previously employed as a Portfolio Manager & Head of Emerging Markets by ACPI Investments Ltd.
Prior to joining ACPI, she was the Head of Emerging Markets for Standard Bank’s Principal Investment Management (PIM), where she directed a team of investment professionals based in London and was responsible for fund strategies and investment selection within the emerging markets fixed income asset class targeting absolute returns.
She has experience in investing across sovereign, corporate and financial sectors covering all emerging markets regions and Sub-Saharan Africa where fundamental research and risk management are key.
She has been actively involved in the development of PIM’s Africa exposure and is aware of the intricacies of trading African securities.
She also managed the emerging market bond portfolios at First State before joining Standard Bank.
Prior to this, she worked as an Emerging Market Debt Portfolio Manager at Fischer Francis Trees and Watts.
Her previous work experience also includes economic analysis for both Emerging Markets Economics Ltd (EME) and the World Bank.
At EME, she was involved in the structural reform programmes all across Africa relating to trade policies and infrastructural development.
Ms.Yousuf holds a BSc in Econometrics and a MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics.
