Thomas Byrd

Mr. Wyman T.
Byrd is an Investment Advisor at Colony Family Offices LLC.
He leads the overall integrated investment process for the firm, manages the strategic relationship with Greycourt & Co. and works closely with family clients.
He brings more than 20 years of investment management experience to Colony.
Previously, he was a Family Investment Officer at GenSpring Family Offices, LLC, responsible for the introduction, implementation, and management of GenSpring’s investment process for client families.
His duties included investment policy formation, asset allocation strategy development, investment manager selection, and client relationship management.
Prior to GenSpring, he was a portfolio manager in the external manager strategies group at Franklin Street Partners, an investment firm in Chapel Hill, NC.
In that role, he directed the firm’s investment manager research effort in the public equity space and co-managed a global equity and credit fund of funds.
Tom was also a member of the firm‘s asset allocation team.
He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
He also received his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.
In addition, he holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.
