Sumanta Banerjee

Prior to joining Tuckerbrook, Mr. Banerjee was the Portfolio Manager for Commonfund's Distressed Debt Partners I and II.
From 2001 to 2005, under Mr. Banerjee's leadership, both partnerships invested more than $200 million in top-tier global managers, achieving superior net returns in the high teens with low volatility.
Mr. Banerjee was a member of the Advisory Boards of several distressed and turnaround investment funds, including Cerberus Capital Management, Matlin Patterson, Sun Capital, and KPS Investors.
Mr. Banerjee began his career at J.P.
Morgan where, from 1990-1998, he worked in the investment banking department in High Yield/Leveraged Finance, Restructuring & Reorganization, Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Placements and Debt Capital Markets, most recently as Vice President.
Mr. Banerjee became a Vice President in the merchant banking area of the Paribas Group but left in 1999 to co-found the Evercore Partners Restructuring Group in New York.
As a senior member of Evercore, Mr. Banerjee provided financial restructuring advice to both creditors and debtors in over 15 restructurings in excess of $15 billion in liabilities.
Mr. Banerjee received his BA with Honors from the College of Wooster and his MBA from Columbia University.
Mr. Banerjee has a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation and recently named to the Global Registers Who's Who 2006-2007.
