Its principal activities are the provision of management services and holding of investments to its subsidiaries. The company operates through five segments: Liquor, rums, wines and sugar, General Merchandise, General Insurance, Investments and Transportation Services. The Liquor, rums, wines and sugar segment offers cane cultivation, sugar manufacturing, distillation, ageing, blending, bottling, distribution and export of alcohol, rums, wines and other liquor based products. The General Merchandise segment offers manufacture wholesale and retail merchandising of provisions, household goods, and manufacture and distribution of pharmaceutical preparations and agricultural chemicals. The General Insurance segment offers underwriting of property, casualty and other general insurance risks and the holding of investments. The Investments segment offers holding of investments. The Transportation Services segment offers aircraft handling, distribution of motor vehicles and spares, servicing and repair of motor vehicles. It is headquartered in Kingston, Jamaica.
