The firm was founded by John Calamos, Sr. in 1977 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Calamos Investments LLC, ultimately held by Calamos Family Partners, Inc. MLAM manages the Merrill Lynch family of mutual funds, as and acts as sub-advisor to other mutual funds.
