Peter McCarthy

Mr. Peter McCarthy is Vice President at Benjamin F.
Edwards & Co., Inc. Previously, Mr. McCarthy worked for 15 years at A.G.
Edwards, having joined the firm in 1993 as a marketing specialist in the company’s Fixed Income Department.
In 1997, he was promoted to assistant marketing manager where he supervised the production of the area’s marketing materials, while also developing and teaching fixed-income training courses for financial consultant trainees and providing marketing advice and investment suitability guidance.
In 1999, he moved to the firm’s Information Technology Division to serve as a systems analyst.
In this capacity he worked to identify and implement system and business process improvements to increase capacity, add efficiencies, and reduce processing errors.
Five years later, he moved to the brokerage’s Syndicate Department as a business analyst and managed the technology needs for the area.
He also led the implementation of a new municipal syndicate order, allocation and execution processing system.
During this period he was also named an associate vice president of the firm.
When Wachovia Securities (now Wells Fargo Advisors) acquired A.G.
Edwards 2007, Mr. McCarthy was named a vice president and served as a business analyst in the Equity Syndicate Department.
During this period, he planned and implemented the systems and process integration activities helping facilitate the transition.
He left A.G.
Edwards in 2008 to return to graduate school and obtain his MBA from Washington University’s Olin School of Business.
While in graduate school, Mr. McCarthy worked at Edward Jones in the Fixed Income and Compliance Departments helping streamline supervisory and regulatory processes and procedures.
Mr. McCarthy is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Missouri – St. Louis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.
He also has his Series 7 and Series 63 licenses.
