Michael Nawarth

Mr Nawrath graduated with a degree in medicine and biochemistry from the Freie Universität Berlin in 1990.
He wrote a biochemistry thesis on cancer research at Max-Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics.
He earned his first doctorate in the field of glaucoma research and wrote his second doctorate dissertation in 1999 on cancer research in molecular biology.
Between 1990 and 1994 Dr Nawrath worked for one year on the intensive care unit of a teaching hospital and for just under three years at a private orthopaedic clinic in Berlin.
He then came to the Institute of Medical Virology in Zurich, where he participated in the development and expansion of various genetic therapy programmes as part of an international project.
Michael Nawrath worked with a number of universities in the academic field and with various biotech companies on the industrial front.
As project head in a field of basic research he received additional funding directly from the Swiss Cancer League.
In addition to his work, he evaluated biotech companies as an external consultant for Swiss private banks over a two-year period beginning in 1999.
Dr Nawrath has worked as Senior Portfolio Manager/Analyst for the Credit Suisse Equity Fund (Lux) Global Biotech at CSAM since September 2000.
He is currently training to become a chartered financial analyst (CFA).
