BEAR Scotland Ltd. is a leading road maintenance and management firm founded in 2000. The joint venture company is based in Perth, UK and manages the trunk road unit spanning 506km through some of the busiest sections of the country, from central Scotland to through the Scottish borders. It includes routes such as the bypass, as well as a large section of the M8 connecting Edinburgh to Glasgow. The British company has major works planned on the M8 junction 3 slip road and a major refurbishment of the bridge that carries the eastbound slip road off the M8 at junction 3 near over the A899 is planned to start early in 2023 for six months. The company also manages the Rest and Be Thankful trunk road operation following significant events.
