Sousa, CFA, is a Senior Vice President & Chief Investment Officer at Plimoth Trust Co. LLC.
He joined the firm in 2016, overseeing the investment management process, and directing research activities and the firm’s asset allocation strategies.
He works closely with the team of Investment Officers to inform clients of important economic developments and financial market dynamics while focusing on achieving their unique investment objectives.
Mr. Sousa is an experienced portfolio manager, having spent over 20 years in the investment industry.
He spent eight years at Scudder Investments, where he became a Vice President of the firm working with various types of institutional and retail clients primarily on multi-strategy asset allocation portfolios.
Mr. Sousa was a founding member of the investment office at Wellesley College in 2002, where he spent 10 years as a member of the team managing the College endowment.
He later went on to manage marketable equities and hedge fund strategies for Williams College.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Roger Williams University in Business Administration with minors in Finance and Economics.
He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and Boston Security Analysts Society.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts where he currently serves as Board Treasurer, Chair of the Finance Committee and member of the Investment Committee.
He also serves on the Investment Committee of the Dioceses of Fall River.
