Dr. Katharina Lima de Miranda is a Researcher at Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
She is also a visiting professor at the University of Hamburg.
Her current research focus lies in the application of behavioral economic insights to sustainable social development, whereby she builds on her rich expertise in empirical and experimental economic research.
Furthermore, she works on individual and group decision-making with applications to the labor market, health economics or gender equality where she applies experimental methods and designs and implements surveys and experiments.
In addition to her research, she is the Research Director of the Council for Global Problem-Solving, a network of renowned think tanks that provides scientific advice to the G20 and associated international organizations.
Through this activity, she deals with concrete solutions to global problems, including the drifting apart from social and economic progress.
Before joining the Kiel Institute, she studied Economics in Kiel and Paris and was a Carlo-Schmid-Fellow and consultant at UNCTAD in Geneva.
Subsequently, she was a research assistant at the Chair for Public Economics at Kiel University, where she received her Ph.D.
in Economics in 2016.
