Dr. Josefine Diekhof is an Advanced Researcher at Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung GmbH.
In September 2017, she joined ZEW as a postdoctoral researcher in the Research Department “Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics”.
Throughout her research stay at the World Bank in Mexico (2015–2016), she furthermore investigated the relevancy of different firm characteristics when considering the effect of foreign market expansions on changes in firm performance.
As a supervisory board member of an energy cooperative, she performed profitability analyses and supported the development of new strategic areas while collaborating with professionals from the solar industry, utility companies, and local governments.
After completing a degree in business administration in 2012, she undertook her doctoral studies in economics at the graduate college ‘The Economics of Innovative Change’, hosted by the Max Planck Institute of Economics and the Friedrich Schiller University Jena.
In her Ph.D.
thesis, she focused on research areas related to entrepreneurial and innovative activities as well as international trade and sustainable transitions.
Considering the context of radical and sustainable change, she analyzed technology-specific responses of established firms to the activity of innovative entrants in the automotive industry.
