John C. J. Thynne

Dr. John C.
Thynne is an Advisor at Wesley Clover International Corp.
He is on the Board of Directors at Enfis Ltd.
After an academic career which included teaching at universities in the UK and North America, he joined the UK Government Service where he worked in the Ministry of Technology, the Foreign Office, and the Department of Trade and Industry.
In the DTI Dr. Thynne was particularly involved in the IT and telecommunications sectors, including the liberalisation of the telecoms industry and the introduction of new technologies.
He then became the Director General of the Electronics Components Industries Federation and later joined the Board of a number of high tech companies, including Newbridge Networks Corporation.
His links with government continued through his membership of the Radiocommunications Agency Steering Board from 1992-1998.
Currently Dr. Thynne is a director of a number of companies including Enfis, Ubivisum, and the Celtic Manor Resort.
He was made a Companion of the Bath in the 1990 Queen's Birthday Honours.
