James Petro

Mr. Petro is currently President of NewCom Technologies, Inc., a broadband telecommunications industry engineering service provider that has provided network development for the telecommunications and power industries as well as GIS development services for municipal/government agencies.
Mr. Petro was President and Principal of NewCom when it was founded in 1995 with 5 employees, growing to 106 employees by 1998, when it merged with McLeodUSA (NASD: MCLD), one of the nation's leading Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs).
Mr. Petro then became Director of Outside Plant Engineering for McLeodUSA before repurchasing the NewCom business in 2001 and returning it to private ownership.
Prior to starting NewCom, Mr. Petro spent 26 years in the telecommunications industry, first as Director of Engineering for Rollins Cablevue, an East Coast media conglomerate, then as Vice President of Engineering for Heritage Communications, a national telecommunications company, later sold to TCI, and as Senior Vice President for New Heritage Associates, a partnership involved with telecommunications company acquisitions.
Mr. Petro is nationally recognized for his expertise within telecommunications industry, being elected to Senior Member Status by the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers.
He has also served on the Engineering Advisory Board for Connecticut's State Technical Colleges.
Mr. Petro attended Delaware Technical College and completed undergraduate work at the University of New Haven in its Electrical Engineering School.
He is currently an active board member with NewCom Technologies, Inc., MarketLink, First Source Mortgage Solutions, Inc., and TreeHouse Enterprises, Inc.
