Mathews began in 2000 as a portfolio manager specialising in international equities in Dimensional's Santa Monica office.
In 2004 she moved to the London office to take the helm of the trading desk there.
She continues to play a role in explaining Dimensional's philosophy, the underlying economic principles, the investment approach, and portfolio construction of Dimensional's funds to clients and prospects.
Prior to working at Dimensional, Heather was an analyst for the Los Angeles Times and for management consultants Theodore Barry & Associates.
Heather obtained her MBA in General Management from Harvard University Graduate School of Business, and a BA in Mathematics and Mathematical Economics from Pomona College in California.
