The firm was founded by Stephen Schwarzman in 2005 as GSO Capital Partners LP and changed their name to Blackstone Alternative Credit Advisors LP in 2020. They are a subsidiary of GSO Holdings I LLC, ultimately owned by The Blackstone Group, Inc. (NYSE: BX). BACA provides their services to a limited number of sophisticated investors such as institutional and high-net worth individual investors.
