Alfred Schwan

Alfred Schwan is the Chairman of The Schwan Food Co, Inc. and is also the brother of company founder, Marvin Schwan.
His involvement in the company has been critical to its success.
He played a vital role in the building of Schwan's frozen pizza business from the time the company purchased a small pizza company, with fifteen employees, in Salina, Kansas, to now being the largest producer of frozen pizza in the world.
During World War II, he served as a pilot in the U.S.
Navy.
Afterward, he married his wife Doris, in 1946, and became an industrial engineer starting his career with Deere & Co., the farm equipment manufacturers.
In 1964, he joined his family in the company.
Since then he has served as Director of Manufacturing for the entire corporation, as well as CEO and Chairman of the Board.
He and Doris reside in Salina, Kansas.
They have five sons, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild
