Zinette Esmail

Ms. Esmail joined McLean & Partners in 2006.
She brings with her many years experience in equity research and portfolio management gained with blue-chip institutions based in London, UK, New York and Toronto.
Ms. Esmail started her career in 1983 in London, UK as a junior research analyst with the British Railways Pension Fund.
In a six year period she was promoted to the positions of senior UK & EU equity analyst and co-portfolio manager of two all-equity portfolios with assets in excess of US$5 billion.
She then enrolled for a two year full-time MBA program in London and after completing her course returned to international equity investing managing a UK/Europe equity portfolio on behalf of a private trust.
In 1994 she moved to New York where she joined Swiss Bank Asset Management (now part of UBS) as a senior equity analyst and co-portfolio manager with a focus and responsibility for investing private clients' assets in international equities.
After a year, she joined Manning & Napier based in upstate New York, an institution with an established reputation for excellent fundamental equity research and disciplined value style.
Ms. Esmail played a key role in the rigorous stock selection for the US$3.5 billion equity portfolio and increased the firm's exposure in international equities to 35% from zero in two years.
Returns exceeded the benchmark index four years in a row.
At the beginning of 2001 she moved to Toronto to be closer to her family and joined McLean Budden as a senior global equity analyst and portfolio manager with research responsibility in technology, media and consumer staples.
After two years, she was offered a mandate by a private trust to actively manage its global equity portfolios for three years and she delivered top quartile returns in each year.
