Barton has been a Director and an Executive Vice President of Benchmark Electronics, Inc. since 1990.
Previously, he was a Member of the Nominating and Governance Committee of Benchmark Electronics from 2000 to February 2003, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales from 1990 to April 1992, Executive Vice President from 1988 to 1990, Vice President from 1986 to 1988, President from 1979 to 1983 and a Director from 1986 to 1988.
From 1977 to 1986, Mr. Barton held various management positions with Intermedics.
He received a BS degree and an MS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
