Dr. Seija Parviainen is Adviser at Bank of Finland.
Her area of responsibility covers regular monitoring of the international economy and forecasting (of Japan, Asia, Oceania and South America in particular) as well as monitoring the sustainable economy (ecological, the economic, social).
She also participates in maintaining and developing the Bank's stakeholder relations.
She has previously worked as a consultant at the OECD, Financial Councellor at the Ministry of Finance, Senior Researcher at the Labour Institute for Economic Research and special researcher at the Government Institute for Economic Research.
Dr. Parviainen graduated with her Masters in Political Science from Helsinki University in 1988 with a major in economics.
Following this, she has continued her studies in FDPE – the Finnish Doctoral Programme in Economics, Kiel Institute for the World Economy and the London School of Economics.
