Ravi Thanvi

As Principal in the Energy Infrastructure team based in Mumbai, Ravi has the responsibility of originating, evaluating and managing investments across the energy and infrastructure sectors in India and SE Asia.
Since joining Actis in 2018, Ravi has had the opportunity to drive the firm into new markets and sectors.
He helped build the infrastructure opportunity in Asia by supporting Actis Long Life Infrastructure Fund’s first investment in India.
Further, he played an instrumental role in helping the Energy business venture into SE Asia by establishing its gas platform strategy under Actis Energy 5.
Currently, he is actively looking at newer sectors including roads, gas midstream and telecoms, and hopes to play a pivotal role in Actis’ continued leadership in global sustainable infrastructure.
Ravi has 10 years of investing and advising experience with a focus on the energy and infrastructure sectors.
Prior to joining Actis, he was an investment banker, having worked with Goldman Sachs and HSBC in Mumbai for 3 years each, where he advised multinationals on M&A and strategic fund-raising for their investments in India.
Ravi holds an Integrated M.
Sc.
in Mathematics and Computing from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT-KGP) and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A).
