Mark Cate

Mr. Cate joined Lawler-Wood as a vice president in the summer of 2007 after a 16-year senior management career with Maryville College.
At Lawler-Wood, he provides oversight and direction for facilities and property management, manages various development projects and guides the firms marketing and business development efforts.
During his tenure at Maryville, he served as chief development officer, chief marketing officer, chief planning officer and chief financial officer (CFO).
His background and experience include strategic planning, master planning, facilities management, development/project management, budgeting, financial analysis and forecasting, human resources, and fundraising.
Mr. Cate received his B.S.
from Carson-Newman College and his M.S.
from the University of Tennessee; he also attended Harvard Universitys Institute for Educational Management.
He is actively involved in the community and currently serves as vice chairman of the Blount County Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Blount Education Initiative, and a member of the following boards: Maryville City Board of Education, New Hope Children's Advocacy Center, Leadership Knoxville, Technology 2020 Ventures and Innovation Valley, Inc.
