The Hanshin Electric Railway Co. Ltd. engages in the provision of railway services. The Urban Transportation Business division operates four lines the Main Line, Hanshin Namba Line, Kobe Kosoku Line, and Mukogawa Line, that connect the two central areas of Osaka, Umeda and Namba, with Kobe in Hyogo Prefecture. The Real Estate Business division engages in the development of real estate in areas along railway lines and increasing the attractiveness of commercial facilities in the areas. The Sports & Leisure Business division manages the Hanshin Koshien Stadium, the venue for the national high school baseball tournaments and home of the Hanshin Tigers professional baseball teams. The company was founded on June 12, 1899 and is headquartered in Osaka, Japan.
