Prior to founding Numeric in the fall of 1989, Mr. Wheeler was employed as a portfolio manager, quantitative analyst, and Vice President in the Asset Management Division of State Street Bank & Trust Company.
Prior to joining State Street in 1985, Mr. Wheeler worked for several years as an investment manager for a few high net worth individuals.
Prior to 1981, he worked in the construction technology field and held positions as a Staff Consultant at Arthur D.
Little and later as Director of Marketing at ChemFab, the leading manufacturer of permanent fabric structures.
Mr. Wheeler received his MBA from the Harvard Business School in 1974 and his BS in Engineering and Applied Science from Yale in 1969.
Mr. Wheeler served as a Naval Supply Corps Lieutenant aboard the USS Okinawa from 1970 to 1972.
