Before joining GEF in 2006, Mr. Fenner was CEO of Global Forest Products in South Africa for five years.
He led the turnaround of GFP after its acquisition by Global Environment Fund in 2001.
GFP’s business performance experienced remarkable improvements in all areas of the business, based on culture change, training, product development and a capitalization program.
Previously, Mr. Fenner held senior positions with Tolko Industries Ltd, Canadian Pacific Forest Products and Doman Industries Ltd.
He has overseen the construction of new mills as well as large modernization capital projects in existing plants.
Mr. Fenner received his business and commerce education from the University of Victoria, the Malaspina College Business program and the accounting program offered through the Certified General Accountants Association (CGA).
