He directed the largest and most successful campaign in Georgetown University’s history, the $1 billion Third Century Campaign.
He also developed and implemented Georgetown’s post-campaign strategy, designed to maintain momentum of the major gift program.
Before his work at Georgetown, he held leadership positions at Washington State University, where he directed the first comprehensive campaign in the university’s history.
He began his development career with Eastside Catholic High School in Bellevue, Wash.
He serves on the boards of the Portland Business Alliance and The Beaver Caucus, a legislative advocacy effort at OSU.
Since 2008 he also has served on the national Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Board of Trustees, where he is currently Chair, and is a former chair and board member of CASE District VIII.
At the request of the U.S.
Department of State, Goodwin traveled to the republic of Georgia in 2009 to help Georgian universities develop their philanthropic programming.
He earned his bachelor’s in English from the University of San Francisco and his master’s degree from the University of Washington.
