Dr. Anamaria Maftei is Economic Analyst at European Commission Joint Research Centre.
She carries out research and analysis in the area of public economics, with special focus on tax policies; develops and uses microsimulation modelling tools to assess the impact of fiscal reforms affecting tax revenues, employment and disposable income in the EU Member States.
She preivously worked in DG for Economic and Financial Affairs as a Research Assistant on a project that aimed to assess the uncertainty in predicting public revenue in the short term.
Prior to joining the European Commission, she was employed in the private sector.
Dr. Maftei holds a PhD in Economics from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, Iasi (Romania) and a Master's degree in Business Management from Université des Sciences et Technologies, Lille (France).
