STB Asset Management Co., Ltd. is the asset management arm and a subsidiary of The Sumitomo Trust & Banking Co., Ltd. (TSE: 8403). Located in Tokyo, the firm was established in 1986 and was previously known as Sumishin Investment Management Co., Ltd. STB provides investment advisory and mutual fund management services to private, corporate and institutional clients. The firm develops and manages a diverse family of funds which are distributed throughout the parent group and by third parties. They also offer separately managed accounts, private investment trusts and defined contribution schemes. STB is involved in socially responsible investing. The firm operates in close relationship with Aozora Securities Co. Ltd., following the 2007 business alliance between Sumitomo Trust and Aozora Bank.
